Privacy Policy

Shiesuta ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Shiesuta Discord bot (the "Bot"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your information when you use the Bot, and tells you about your privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only use data as needed to operate the Bot and comply with applicable law.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information from you in the following ways:

Discord Account Information: When you invite the Bot to a server, Discord shares certain information with us, including your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and the servers you belong to. This is provided by Discord's OAuth2 flow and APIs.
Voice & Message Data: The Bot receives voice channel membership, message content (prefix commands), and track requests in order to play music. This data is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored by the Bot.
Log Data: We may collect technical information such as IP addresses, device information, and error logs. This is typically handled by the hosting provider (e.g., the runtime environment where the Bot is deployed) and is used for operational and debugging purposes.

We do not store any personal data beyond what is necessary for the Bot to function. No data is retained once the Bot is restarted unless explicitly needed for configuration (e.g., language preference per guild, stored only in memory).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

Operate, monitor, and maintain the Bot.
Respond to your commands and provide the music playback service.
Diagnose and fix errors or performance issues.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.

4. Data Retention

The Bot does not permanently store personal data. Guild-specific settings such as language preference are held in memory only and are lost when the Bot restarts. No data is sold, traded, or transferred to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

The Bot integrates with:

Discord: We interact with Discord APIs to receive commands and play audio. See the Discord Privacy Policy.
Lavalink: The Bot connects to a Lavalink server for audio streaming. Audio data flows through Lavalink and Discord's voice infrastructure.
Spotify: If configured, the Bot may use Spotify's API to resolve playlist and album metadata. See the Spotify Privacy Policy.
YouTube / SoundCloud: The Bot may fetch track metadata from these services to display now-playing information.

These services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information that is associated with you. Because the Bot does not permanently store personal data, you may request to be forgotten by removing the Bot from your server. If you have questions or concerns about your data, please contact us via the project's GitHub repository.

You can opt out of using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server or disabling its commands.

7. Children's Privacy

The Bot is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal data from a child under 13, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to delete such information.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the Bot and any transient data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Bot after those changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
